MEETINGS
Support, Information, Community
Dates, Times, and Location are Listed Below
Due to Covid-19, and out of respect for the safety of our members, we are not holding "In-Person" Meetings until further notice. However, we are still here to help through our Newsletter, Website, Virtual Visitor Program, and Ostomy Supply Gift Pantry.
Informal Discussion and Peer Support
We are here to offer support. Although we do not offer medical advice, we do share our personal ostomy experiences, practical tips, and insight to make life a little easier for others.
We speak from the heart. This is a judgment free zone, and there are no "silly" questions. It is an excellent place to make new friends.
Discussion topics have included: Living with a Urostomy, Who, What, and When to "Tell," Travel Tips, Ostomy Fashion, (and much much more!)
Guest Speakers
We love to have guest speakers share their expertise.
From the medical community, we have been fortunate to welcome surgeons and wound care nurses.
Manufacturer "reps" visit to tell us about the latest new ostomy products.
To provide great advice to enhance our every day lives, we've had programs from nutritionists and physical fitness instructors.
Special Activities
Occasionally, we like to combine a little work and play.
We'll all pitch in to collate information packets, sort supply donations, or take part in a health fair.
We'll participate in a Visitor Training Class or fundraiser.
And sometimes, we'll meet just for fun at a new restaurant.
Meeting Dates, Time, & Location
We typically meet on the third Sunday of the month (September through June) at AdventHealth-Winter Park Hospital, on the second floor of the Conference Center (see map), at 2:00 P.M.
